This session is designed to help clinicians navigate the contemporary landscape of athletic footwear, through the healthcare professional’s lens.
With athletic footwear construction and technology rapidly evolving, keeping-up with how these elements will influence the fit, feel and function of a shoe can be a daunting task.
Here we provide an update on contemporary footwear design characteristics, in addition to an evidence update on how various footwear characteristics will influence lower extremity tissue loading. Essential elements of understanding for footwear prescription and injury management.
